WrestleMania rematches have always been a thing in WWE and that trend doesn’t appear to be going away any time soon. While some of the storylines from this year’s WrestleMania have carried over to the present day, some faded away almost immediately in the weeks following the Showcase of the Immortals.
One of those matches includes the Raw Tag Team Champions Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder who beat The Revival at WrestleMania for the Titles.
The two teams squared off the next night with The Revival falling short once again, but the two teams would then grow apart as The Revival are now involved in a feud with The Usos while also being aligned with Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.
WWE is giving The Revival another chance at reclaiming their gold on Monday Night Raw, however, as they are scheduled to face off against the current champions in a title match.
If The Revival are going to be pushed as a top heel team as it seems they are alongside Shane McMahon, giving them the Championships would only lend to the notion that they’re a legitimate threat.
While Hawkins and Ryder winning the titles at WrestleMania was a nice feel-good moment, it’s also resulted in the tag team gold being virtually invisible as the duo rarely if ever sees screen time.
It’s distinctly possible that Brock Lesnar has been seen more times than the Raw Tag Team Championships since WrestleMania, which isn’t a good thing considering Lesnar disappeared for a few months immediately following the show.
Either WWE needs to use Hawkins & Ryder more frequently or they need to get the championships off of them and onto a team they’re willing to use on television. Either option will work, but The Revival seem like the better-suited team to bring any sort of credence to the Championships.
