WWE Rumors and News: Reigns, Podcasts, Bischoff, More
In a new feature we’ll be offering few times per week, Wrestling Writeups will take a look at the biggest stories of the day in WWE, including news, rumors and a few opinions.
Today’s report includes rumors that Roman Reigns might walk away with a big prize on Friday, Bischoff’s future after WWE, the first podcast officially offered by WWE and more.
Reigns to Win Intercontinental Title?
WWE just announced that Roman Reigns will be taking on Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship on Friday’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Nakamura’s chances of walking out with the title are slim at best.
WWE says they’re not concerned with lower ratings on the last episode of Friday Night SmackDown but this suggests otherwise. One has to assume WWE is looking for a way to boost the numbers back up for Fox and Reigns was a must-get for the network when the deal was first announced. Giving him a title makes a lot of sense.
It would also suggest that Bruce Prichard is trying to put a stamp on the show as new Executive Director and that he’s not afraid to make big changes.
Bayley Tells All
Bayley recently spoke with Sky Sports Lock Up Podcast about her new character direction and the rumors that she and Sasha Banks had a meltdown at WrestleMania 35. Banks has already told her side of the story. Bayley is finally speaking on the matter.
“We read all the stupid rumors and it’s ridiculous,” she said. Bayley added, “There’s no proof of it and it’s people just spreading these rumors because they want to talk, they want something to start up.”
Banks said, “show me the footage.” during her WWE Network special and both have told the same story that they watched the final match at WrestleMania by the hard cam and “enjoyed the women stealing the show.”

WWE Drops Date for First-Ever Podcast
WWE announced today that their first-ever weekly podcast series, After the Bell, will launch on Wednesday, October 30 and be hosted by Corey Graves. Wise choice.
This will be the first of many upcoming podcasts on the new WWE Podcast Network.
A press release from WWE Public Relations noted that this new show would offer fans “an edgy and unpredictable look at the latest in Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown and NXT.”
Our question is, ‘How unpredictable can the shows really be as WWE produced podcasts since WWE will closely monitor what is said by WWE employees?’
You’re Fired Tees Are Available Now
Hosts of the popular 83 Weeks podcast Conrad Thompson and Eric Bischoff will try to cash-in on the news that Bischoff was fired as Executive Director of SmackDown by selling “Fired” tees designed to look like the Fed-Ex logo and available at EricBischoff.com.
Of course, the design hints at the rumors that Bischoff was known for firing people via fax, including Steve Austin who might have been one of the worst firings in the history of professional wrestling.
