While it’s going to come across as ironic to some fans, WWE Community has released a new video that encourages fans to stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic. The video features WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, and Kofi Kingston, all telling fans how they can do their part in protecting themselves and others from this nasty disease that has brought pretty much everything in society to a standstill.
“I’m here to share some simple steps you can take to help protect yourself and others,” Kofi said after McIntyre opened the video.
Providing a lot of the same tips many members of the WWE Universe may have already heard from other expert sources, “Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth,” Flair said. “Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20-plus seconds.” She added, “Together we can help slow the spread.”
McIntyre noted, “Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue.” “Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects,” Kofi added. “Wash hands after touching commonly used objects.”
Fans Will Ask Questions
In any other time, this would be seen as a great thing for WWE to be doing. Fans, specifically kids, will listen to a WWE Superstar far more often than they might a doctor or politician. But, as WWE send out a video of this nature, they’re also facing scrutiny for continuing live shows while it’s likely much safer not to do so.
This video will be viewed by many as WWE’s way of saying they are doing everything to be safe and shifting the focus away from their questionable decision to forge on. One member of their staff already contracted the virus and many believe they are lucky no WWE Superstar has.
WWE will air Raw live tonight from the WWE Performance Center.
