WWE Opens WrestleMania With Early Tag Title Change

The show opened with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross challenging the Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Early on, it was all Kabuki Warriors who dominated the action. A few close pins and it appeared Cross and Bliss were going to over-matched.

Cross and Bliss fought back, Cross almost having the match won with a neck-breaker. But, a flying elbow from the top rope by Kairi Sane saved the match.

As the action continued, Cross and Asuka got locked up in a cross-face and Bliss broke the hold with a Twisted Bliss off the top rope. The action left Cross and Sane battling on the corner ropes, eventually Asuka worked her way in and a double team almost saw Asuka get a pin again. Cross fought back, landed another swinging neck-breaker, Bliss hit the Twisted Bliss and there were new tag team champions crowned.

Winners: Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss

The questions will now be what happens with each competitor, more specifically Asuka who has been a regular on WWE programming over the past couple of weeks. It appears WWE might have bigger plans for her.

She immediately tweeted following the match (a match she was likely watching at home with everyone else) saying “Boo, Boo, Boo”.
