[Rumor] WWE May Call Up a Developmental Talent as Part of U.S. Title Picture
There are rumors swirling that United States Champion Andrade might be in WWE’s doghouse after his suspension for violating the WWE”s Wellness Policy. He was suspended in late January and since his return, hasn’t done much.
Andrade holds one victory of Humberto Carrillo, a match in which he successfully defended his championship but Tom Colohue of Sportskeeda Wrestling told Korey Gunz on Dropkick DiSKussions that there may be more to what’s going on with Andrade than WWE being upset with him.
Colohue noted the recent doghouse rumors are just the start of what might be a change in direction with the U.S. Title. He notes, “the recent losing streak is just to build other people up for an eventual match.” According to Colohue, that match would be a tag team match with Andrade and Angel Garza against Rey and Dominick Mysterio.
Apparently, WWE is thinking about calling up Dominick as part of this storyline and whether that happens before WrestleMania 36 or not is unclear. WWE may let Rey Mysterio finish out his current program with the United States title.
This wouldn’t be the first time Dominick was included in storylines on WWE television as he’s been involved with Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar. But, this could be one of the first signs he’d be coming in for an extended run and Colohue notes, “People are very happy with the development of Dominick Mysterio.”
