For many, Ross will always be the true voice of the WWE. You’d be hard pressed to find anybody who has their fingerprints on so many of the huge moments in the history of the wrestling industry outside of Ross.
While Ross was undoubtedly as big a figure in the WWE as superstars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker and the like on screen, he also had a huge role behind the scenes that made him essential to the company for so many years.
Ross, of course, recently rejoined the WWE in 2017 after a departure from the company in 2013. Ross would find himself working with New Japan Pro Wrestling, What Culture Pro Wrestling and World of Sport Wrestling before ultimately making his return to WWE in 2017, providing commentary at WrestleMania 33 in a No Holds Barred match between Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.
Ross would announce his departure via Twitter by posting a picture of himself and The Undertaker. The image is certainly a symbolic one as it represents two of the biggest legends in the history of the business. It was also a way for Ross to mentioned that he would be filming an interview for an upcoming documentary about The Undertaker.
It’s likely that Ross will be leaving WWE to take on a role with All Elite Wrestling as the company looks to add another major figure to their already impressive list of superstars and employees.
No matter where Ross goes or what he does in his future, he’ll undoubtedly have a big following given how he affected the lives of so many via a television screen throughout his career.
