WWE: Big E Set to Return to SmackDown Live
It’s a New Day, yes it is.
The New Day will be back in full force Tuesday night for the May 21 edition of SmackDown Live when Xavier Woods and WWE Champion Kofi Kingston throw a return party for the third member of the popular stable, Big E.
This comes after Big E missed a month of action with a torn meniscus. The news was originally announced by Big E through his own personal Twitter account but was confirmed by WWE shortly thereafter, leaving many with concern as to when they’d see the big man back in action.

Fortunately for fans, the WWE and the WWE Universe, though, the injury wasn’t severe enough to keep Big E off of television for long. While it isn’t clear if he’ll be cleared to return to in-ring action or if he’s going to be forced to sit out of matches for the time being while still making his presence known on television, these questions should be answered on SmackDown Live.
This is good news for all involved as Big E’s absence has coincided with Kingston’s run atop the company as WWE Champion. While it’s been a successful run so far that’s made Kingston feel larger than life at times, it still felt incomplete without Big E to share in the moment along with his New Day brothers.
This also throws an interesting wrench into things as we don’t know if Kevin Owens is still going to be feuding with Kingston over the WWE Championship, if Brock Lesnar (the Money in the Bank winner) is going to be in attendance or if some new opponent will throw their hat into the ring.
Big E being present gives WWE a lot more opportunity for any segment that’s planned which could make for a very good segment.
