For those who watched the five-star pay-per-view that was NXT TakeOver: New York, you saw a main event that saw Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era throw everything they could at Johnny Gargano. While we won’t tell you the outcome of the match or the results of the show (in case you haven’t seen it), we can tell you that Adam Cole and the other members of Undisputed Era don’t seem to be seeing eye-to-eye.
After the bout, WWE cameras caught up with the faction backstage and while the group didn’t seem to know the cameras were rolling, caught what appears to be the start of some friction.
Cole was clearly upset with his running buddies for interfering in the match but is this the start of him going his separate way? The crowd was clearly behind him in the match. Cole seemed to specifically take aim at Roderick Strong before turning to the camera and telling the operator to shut it off.
It will be interesting to see if any of the members show up on Sunday or the Monday/Tuesday following WrestleMania. Or, is NXT starting a full program with these guys and splitting them with a new leader ready to emerge?
One of the hottest factions in NXT, it was only a matter of time before they eventually had to split. Cole was one-half of one of the best matches in NXT history and if there was ever a time to make him a solo star, this might be that time. The crowd would eat it up and if the rest of the group turned on him, he could be one of the biggest stars in the company. His match was that good Bay Bay!
