Triple H Would Like to See WrestleMania Become a Two-Night Event
While speaking with Corey Graves on After The Bell, Triple H discussed a number of topics, one of which was seeing WrestleMania become a two-night event.
Comparing more to a festival than an event, WrestleMania now lasts an entire week and he hopes that WWE makes the change permanently. He explained, “Well, I mean my opinion is my opinion, but I think it was much more enjoyable than the eight-hour extravaganza.” He added:
“When you think about it, in a way, it started out as a concert that ended up being a festival, and it’s this week-long thing. When you think about it in that manner now, you know, the Thursday would have been Hall of Fame, Friday was Smackdown, Saturday was going to be Takeover, Sunday would have been WrestleMania [and] Monday would have been RAW. It’s a week-long festival, and I think that big main-stage attraction needs to be those two nights and it’d be this weekend of events.
There have been a number of fans calling for WWE to move WrestleMania to two nights after what happened this year. While this wasn’t the company’s original plan, the reaction to the event seemed to be overwhelmingly in favor of the move.
That said, he also admits that the change could be extremely hard to make. There are financial concerns, how it would change agreements with arenas, production issues, talent issues and all sorts of elements WWE would need to consider.
