The Revival Discuss Their Final Meeting With McMahon
AEW star Chris Jericho interviewed The Revolt’s Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood (formerly known as Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson of The Revival in WWE) for the latest episode of his “Talk Is Jericho” podcast. As expected, they talked about a number of things WWE related and the duo described their final meeting with Vince McMahon.
While it was tricky to get a meeting with Vince because of WWE’s move to FOX, they were called to Vince’s office and pitched the designs that recently leaked of the comedy act WWE was thinking about for them.
Dax noted that they didn’t think it was a wrestler who leaked the designs but someone on creative because Vince doesn’t often let other wrestlers know about ideas for certain stars. That said, they were “100% real” and Cash said he laughed out loud when he saw the designs in front of everyone at the meeting.
It was explained to them that this would be a way to showcase their charisma and Cash said he agreed to do them, but only until his contract expired. He then made sure to make it known he didn’t like the idea. He said he told them that these “were not good.” Five days after the meeting, the team was taken off the road.
Dax said he still doesn’t know if Vince actually like the idea of the comedy act or just wanted to embarrass them on their way out of the company. He called Vince the “greatest worker of them all.”
Cash noted that WWE offered them more than the rumored $750K per year to stay but that they weren’t interested. They wanted to go to a promotion where tag team wrestling meant something.
