According to reports of those in attendance at the London tapings of Raw today, it appears Braun Strowman has been pulled from the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and been replaced by Sami Zayn.
At some point during the broadcast, Shane McMahon called Strowman into his office and told him he’d be facing Zayn during tonight’s Raw. If he lost, Zayn would be given Strowman’s spot in the match.
Zayn did end up defeating Strowman thanks to outside interference from Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and a steel chair. Strowman came back after the match and slammed Sami through the announce table to end RAW.
What Now for Strowman?
There has been plenty of speculation Strowman is currently in the dog house with WWE based on a botch at WrestleMania 35. While reports like this usually aren’t accurate, it can’t be a coincidence that Strowman keeps getting the short end of the stick in most of his storylines.
What he’ll do now at Money in the Bank is unclear. He may get another match, he may interfere or he may be worked back into things.
For Zayn, this is a good sign WWE hasn’t decided to heavily invest in his current angle.
