Smart Marks of Wrestling Podcast – Ep. 8 – WWE Wild Card Rule

On this week’s episode of the Smart Marks of Wrestling Podcast, it’s all about the WWE Wild Card Rule and how it made Raw and SmackDown Live almost unwatchable.

Episode 8 will dig into, Daniel Bryan and Rowan winning the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles, AEW’s new tv deals, Luke Harper news, Dean Ambrose signing on to star in a new film about MMA, and the release of an interesting video about WWE’s creative writing staff. But, most of the show will center around a very unclear Wild Card Rule put in place by Vince McMahon and changed multiple times.

With no good reason to have had the Superstar Shake-up now, it’s clear WWE has caved to the fear brought on by poor ratings. The new networks about to have their big deals kick in are obviously creating pressure and WWE is unsure of how to respond.

Show Notes:

Brandon and Jim open the show talking Wild Card Rule, what it means, how it affects the future for WWE and their tv deals and if there is a way to make it work so fans can once again enjoy the product.

While we try to move onto a more positive tone, you’ll notice some struggling to say anything kind, except when it comes to AEW and their new tv deals.
