According Wrestling Inc. they are reporting that a number of big-name AEW talents were not at the most recent tapings for the company and, as such, will likely not be part of the programs airing between now and possibly May.
On Monday, AEW star MJF took to Twitter and posted a somewhat cryptic post suggesting he is unable to compete for AEW due to reasons he can’t yet explain to the public. He wrote:
“I wish I could put my body on the line more for you guys. I truly care so much about you being entertained during your hour of need. Unfortunately something awful has happened to me and it has gradually gotten worse. I can’t comment on what the issue is at this time.”
Wrestling Inc. notes they have confirmed that MJF did not take part in the most recent TV tapings and this could be what he was referring to in that post. Wrestling Inc. is also reporting that the following names were not part of the most recent run of shows: The Young Bucks, “Hangman” Adam Page, Nyla Rose, PAC, The Lucha Bros, SCU and Big Swole.
AEW Stars Not Under Pressure To Compete
AEW President Tony Khan recently told talent and staff not to feel pressured into competing during this time. If they want to be part of the show, they are welcomed to, unless they are from the New York and California areas. Those stars were asked to stay away because those cites have been deemed as hotbeds for the virus.
