During an inteview with Steve-O, former WWE Superstar and UFC megastar Ronda Rousey talked about a number of topics and touched on her potential return to WWE.
Saying she would never come back to WWE full-time, she might make a comeback on a more limited basis. She explained on his Wild Ride podcast:
“Well, if I ever do come back it will never be at a full-time capacity ever again. I think like for stints like chunks of time you know. I’m very much like an obsessive person or I like to obsess over something for a certain time and then like kind of go take some time to obsess about something else. But no I’m never gonna be full time again over 200 days a year on the road like that ever again because it’s just it was I needed to do it in order to learn and get like immersed into it and really understand what was going on but it’s just not the lifestyle for me.”
This comes after reports were that Rousey and WWE were talking about a possible contract extension and new deal. We’d heard from Tom Colohue of Sportskeeda.com that the former Raw Women’s Champion “is a possibility to return soon.” Colohue also stated “that contract negotiations are ongoing for a brand new contract.”
These comments from Rousey suggest this report might not be terribly accurate. This isn’t to say that Rousey isn’t talking with WWE. She might be. More, this suggests that if she is, talks revolve around the idea that it would be a short-term stint or that she would be working out a deal with limited appearances.
For Rousey, she did her stint to learn and respect the business as much as she could, but there were also reports she was the person Nix Jax was talking about when referring to Alexa Bliss getting often injured in her matches. The full-time rigors of WWE just aren’t for her.
