Ronda Rousey recently posted a video updating fans on her injury from WrestleMania 35, he status with WWE and her plans to start a family with husband Travis Browne. Saying the original plan was only to work with WWE from WrestleMania 34 to November of that same year, she stuck around when it became possible women would work the main event of the company’s biggest show if she stayed.
Rousey fell in love with WWE and was excited about the potential of headlining WrestleMania, so kept working. But, after WrestleMania 35, she decided to stop and get back to her plan of starting a family.
First, Rousey had to get surgery on her knuckle which she broke flipping a table during the WrestleMania 35 match. She’s fixed the injury, needs to give it time to heal and she and her husband will be traveling the world and working on having a child.
From there, even though she has a multi-year deal with WWE, she may come back and she may not. Rousey says it all depends on the feeling she gets after having the baby. If she looks down and says f–k it, I’m done with everything expect being a mother, that might happen. Or, if she’s like her mom, who won went right back to work after having her, she may be ready to go in WWE sooner than later.
One thing seems certain, Rousey will not be back in time for a one-on-one match with Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36.
She added, “I don’t want to make any promises about the future when I don’t know how I’m gonna feel in the future. So thank you everyone for your support, I had the most amazing time this year! I am also looking forward to a little bit of a rest and some mommy – daddy time.”
