Despite the fact that Roman Reigns won’t be around WWE for some time, he’s still very much the leader of the WWE locker room in many respects. With John Cena gone and The Undertaker out, Reigns has taken it upon himself to try and be a mentor and leader to a younger group of WWE Superstars, many of whom are seeing success as WWE transitions into what they hope will be a new era.
So, to see Reigns call someone out for something that might be a bit iffy should not come as a surprise.
The Big Dog did just that when new WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman posted a photo of himself with all the championships he’s won so far in his WWE career on Instagram. Braun captioned the photo with “#Inevitable.”, suggesting it was only a matter of time before he won the company’s top prize.
The photo is fun but at the same time, Strowman is likely only the champion because Roman Reigns pulled himself from WrestleMania after health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus. Strowman should be grateful, but this picture suggests WWE was going with him all along. So, when Reigns saw the photo, he replied to his post with “#humbleyourself.”
Perhaps knowing that he might have gone a bit too far, Strowman replied to Reigns’ comment with a reference to the Marvel villain, Thanos. He wrote, “Beyond humbled, couldn’t resist the Thanos post though.”
It will be interesting to see if Strowman calms down and bit and shows a little more respect or if he continues to display an attitude towards winning the championship as he moves into a program with Bray Wyatt.
