Reports on Street Profits Raw Future
If you’re wondering what the future holds for the NXT Tag Team Champions as it pertains to their time on the main roster, one report suggests the WWE knows what they want to do with the Street Profits. That reports suggests the team won’t be stepping inside a Raw ring anytime soon.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there isn’t a desire by WWE to put either of Angelo Dawkins or Montez Ford in the ring on Raw. Instead, they’ll stay a part of the show through backstage segments and promos.
The reason seems to be that WWE likes the team as a form of advertising for NXT and the hope is that fans who like to watch The Street Profits on Raw will also tune into NXT to see them wrestle and do their thing on the company’s feeder brand.
Street Profits Have Become Quite Popular
After appearing on July 1 in a surprise segment on Raw, the NXT tag team has been a mainstay on the main roster. They’ve yet to wrestle a match but they’ve worked a number of segments often offering unique opinions on WWE main roster matches.
While WWE seems to like them where they are and will keep them on Raw in promo situations, the team is not done with NXT. They are next scheduled to defend their NXT Tag Team Titles against Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish at the NXT “Takeover: Toronto II” the same weekend the main roster is a part of SummerSlam weekend.
For now, it sounds like the duo will be pulling double duty for a while and most fans seem totally ok with that. They’ve been a huge hit since debuting and have a personal fan in nex Executive Director Paul Heyman.
