According to OutKick and PWInsider, Renee Young is expected to leave WWE in the near future. She will still be working SummerSlam weekend but has apparently handed in her notice and will be leaving following the pay-per-view. There is no official word on if this is her final date with the company but the speculation is that things will happen sooner than later.
Young has long-been one of the most talented interviewers and backstage personalities in WWE but she’s been highly underutilized. This parting of ways is not necessarily mutual as it is believed to have been Young’s decision to move on as WWE would have liked to keep her.
Inevitably, rumors will surround an arrival in AEW. Young’s husband, Jon Moxley, is the current AEW Champion and that seems like a natural fit. That said, Young seems very keen to carve her own path and has recently started a cookbook, has other offers on the table to do other work outside of professional wrestling and is likely to land a gig quickly as she’s keen on working. It was the lack of using her skills that are rumored to be the reason she’s leaving WWE.
Amazingly, despite holding multiple jobs with WWE, the company could find something for her to do regularly after testing her out as a color commentator on Monday Night Raw, backstage interviewer, and post-show host.
