Several months ago, it was reported that Vince McMahon had plans to turn The Revival into a comedy tag team. Whether or not that was actually true was unclear, but around that time, The Revival were having issues with The Usos and on the receiving end of practical jokes, while other times at live events, WWE was testing the idea of them being klutzes.
It was around that time that it became crystal clear The Revival was not going to re-sign in WWE.
Also around that time, word spread that WWE wanted to turn the team into a spoofed comedic version of The Fabulous Ones tag team from the 80s. No one seemed to really know what that meant but before anything more came of it, those plans were dropped and they were pulled from shows, pretty much altogether.
Fast-forward a few months and it seems there might have been some truth to the rumors.
Courtesy of Cassidy Haynes at Bodyslam.net, images have leaked showing what Vince McMahon had in mind. The report and images show that they would wear new gear, have new music and the images were mock ideas that were personally handed to The Revival during their final meeting with the chairman.
Needless to say, it’s no wonder The Revival was done with WWE at that point.
Dash Wilder Comments on the Rumors
When asked about it on social media, Cash Wheeler (Dash Wilder) would only say, “Plead the fifth.” For those that don’t know, this basically means that he’s going to retain his right not make a comment that could incriminate himself or someone else.
