Latest Rumors Heading Into WrestleMania 35

With WrestleMania 35 only a matter of hours away, we’ve extensively been covering the show for the past week — well, honestly for the past month we’ve been talking about everything we think will go down.

If you want to hear our WrestleMania predictions podcast, you can listen below:

While you listen, here are your latest rumors heading into WWE’s biggest show of the year.

John Cena’s Role

Cena showed up at the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday, confirming what everyone learned to be true; Cena would be at WrestleMania. The question now becomes, ‘what he’ll do at Sunday’s PPV?’

If you listened to a recent interview by Kurt Angle, Cena is not working with Angle. That’s not what the Olympic Champion wanted but it is what it is because WWE has something else lined up for Cena and Angle told Gorilla Position that Cena will have a match at WrestleMania 35.

New Tag Titles Designed

There’s word going around, apparently originating from BeltFanDan, that WWE had new tag team title designs made and the new belts are in New Jersey for WrestleMania 35.

WrestleMania Surprises?

As fans have come to expect from a WrestleMania, WWE does have at least one big surprise lined up for the show, maybe more. Cena doesn’t count among them so expect something like the return of a former star. It could be Bray Wyatt, Undertaker or someone else that we’ve not considered.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a mixed feeling regarding whether or not the Undertaker will be at WrestleMania 35. Some think he will, others won’t be surprised if he’s not.

Lacey Evans to Win Battle Royal

It’s looking likely that Lacey Evans will enter the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal, and many are guessing that she might win.

There’s not been much of a rhyme or reason to her showing up on television but WWE clearly thinks she has something and perhaps believes the best way to catapult her into a main role on tv is to give her a big win.

Ronda Rousey Leaving After WrestleMania?

Rumors have been flying around, including a story from The Wrestling Observer that Rousey will be leaving WWE after WrestleMania 35. Pro Wrestling Sheet wrote that she would be taking a hiatus to start a family. Neither of those stories may be true.

WWE told TMZ that Rousey’s contract doesn’t expire until April 10, 2021, so she has plenty of time left to make appearances before she even thinks about going anywhere. She may take a little time off if she loses the title but she certainly isn’t leaving.

The Rock to Show Up?

We’re calling this one a longshot but on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said The Rock is one of the names who has been discussed to be in the segment with Elias, interrupting his musical performance. The Rock also just wrapped up one of the locations for shooting on Jumanji 2 which means he might have a couple of days to make a stopover.

Again, this might be a long shot.

Dash Wilder To Get a Push?

Fans went crazy on social media Saturday night after video of Dash Wilder one-punching the fan who rushed the ring at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony went viral. Some were suggesting Wilder get a push with names like Eric Bischoff saying he was a “Dash Wilder guy”.

Interestingly, all of this comes at a time there were rumors WWE might consider breaking up The Revival as a way to stop them from going on social media and making subtle references to AEW or other frustrations with the company.

Don’t expect Wilder to get a push out of the incident last night. In fact, while WWE is trying to avoid talking about the incident at all, it could be that Wilder gets a bit of hand-slap for doing what he did with so many cameras rolling. (even if behind the curtain Vince appreciated it.)
