Earlier reports there might be some alterations to Extreme Rules seem to be coming down the newswire in a hurry.
Rumors were that WWE was considering changes to the show in an effort to clear up storylines and ideas for new Executive Directors, Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman. While their new roles in WWE may not be the sole reason for the adjustments to the pay-per-view card, it certainly opens the door.
As of Sunday, Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler was officially added to main card, a title match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Finn Balor is now official for the Extreme Rules Kickoff pre-show and it appears WWE has moved the tag match featuring The Undertaker and Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre to the opening match of the show.
Ideas Coming to an End?
Whether these storylines all end on Sunday night or not remains to be seen but WWE is certainly staking this pay-per-view card with high-quality matches. This event may turn out to be one of the better in-ring cards in recent memory.
