If word starting to trickle back to WWE is true, one of the company’s next big chosen stars, Lars Sullivan, may be out of action for the rest of the year with a serious knee injury.
A report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter states the original injury that kept Sullivan off of tv this week is worse than anticipated. He could be out the rest of 2019 and up to next year’s WrestleMania.
Lars had undergone an MRI this past week. How and when Lars was injured is unclear, but after wrestling The Lucha House Party on Raw and after defeating them at WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia he missed his match with Matt Hardy on last week’s SmackDown. He was then away all this week.
Crap News for WWE
Despite the fact Lars is not the most beloved performer in WWE, this injury news is not good. His being off tv will be met with a mixed reaction from fans but it puts any plans WWE might have had for the monster, and future matches with the likes of Brock Lesnar or Braun Strowman on hold, for now.
Hopefully this report of 6-9 months isn’t entirely accurate and he’s back much sooner. Otherwise, WWE may have spent the last few months pushing their new resident monster for nothing, not to mention, seemingly overlooking some questionable behavior in favor of keeping a rising star on tv.
