Lars Sullivan Fined $100k By WWE, Requires Sensitivity Training

News, Top Story, WWE

According to a report by Fightful, it appears WWE has decided on Lars Sullivan’s punishment for insensitive remarks that he made years ago online and recently resurfaced.

Sullivan made racist, homophobic and unflattering remarks online and a fan uncovered many of the transcripts. Fellow WWE Superstar Big E then commented on the remarks and the comments went viral. It appeared WWE had hoped the comments would disappear on their own but when fans got vocal and sponsors like Mars threatened action, WWE needed to take a stance. In the end, Sullivan has been fined $100k and will undergo sensitivity training.

Fightful.com broke the news. WWE responded to their request for comment on the situation and wrote:

“WWE supports a culture of inclusion regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation, and we are committed to embracing all individuals as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.

Dylan Miley (aka Lars Sullivan) will be fined $100,000 and required to complete sensitivity training for offensive commentary uncovered from his past. WWE will also facilitate meetings for Dylan with community organizations to foster further discussion around the power of social media and the impact of your words.”

While it’s not necessarily what some fans were looking for in terms of a punishment, it is something.

Now What For Sullivan?

Still relatively new to WWE, Sullivan will feel a $100k fine. Frightful said they’ve reached out to Sullivan for a response. They’ve yet to hear from he or his camp.

There is no word on whether or not this will affect his current push in WWE but it likely won’t. At worst, WWE will be keeping a close eye on what Sullivan says and does from here on in and further comments will likely result in more severe consequences.
