“Knocked myself out and thought I could finish…. love my fans…..but let u down. Everyone else that found “pleasure” ….. hope ur happy,” Goldberg wrote.
This is what Goldberg wrote on social media a few hours after the Super ShowDown event came to a close and he and Undertaker ended the night in a less-than-ideal fashion.
A big topic of discussion that came out of the show on Friday was that the main event between Undertaker and Goldberg looked off. A strong start came to screeching halt when a Tombstone looked awfully close to dropping Goldberg on his head, a botched jackhammer and a quick chokeslam ended things.
Even we wrote an article saying it was a “stinker” of a match but were under the assumption it was simply too older guys who hadn’t wrestled often being asked to do too much. Goldberg seems to be saying that’s not the case.
Goldberg on Dream Street
The only reason the match went in such an odd direction was because he was essentially on dream street. It’s unclear as to when the exact moment was that he was knocked out or, in his words, knocked himself out.
Hopefully it wasn’t when he went hard into the post. If so, he continued on with the match for some time after probably suffering a concussion.
In the end, we can only hope he’s ok and let him know that while the match wasn’t great, he didn’t let anyone down. Not that he’s likely to read this,,,
