Former WWE Official Mike Chioda Comments on Release

Referee Mike Chioda was among the many names released by WWE last week and to the surprise of a number of fans because he was so widely respected. He waited a week but finally took to Twitter to comment on his release from the company. After 35 years in WWE, he had a few people he wanted to thank.

He tweeted:

“I Want To Say Thanks To the WWE & To All My AMAZING WWE FANS & Universe! 35yrs & 31yrs Refereeing Working for the WWE has been a FANTASTIC RUN!! I Am So PROUD to have Worked with So Many ICONS & AMAZING TALENT IN THIS INDUSTRY!! I THANK YOU ALL!! 1Luv! Mike”

In a second tweet, he added:

Chioda’s second tweet: “A Very Special Thanks To All My WWE Co-Workers & WWE FANS for Reaching out to Me! I Really Appreciate The RESPECT & KIND WORDS FROM EVERYONE!! During these Unprecedented times in our lives. Everyone & There Families B Safe & God Bless!!”

There is speculation AEW may be interested as their officiating crew is quite light and often been on the receiving end of criticism for being inexperienced. Jim Ross commented earlier this week that Chioda might make a good pick up for the company.
