WWE announced that their Champion has tested positive for Covid-19, will be quarantined and Raw tonight will be vastly different than originally planned.
McIntyre will still appear on the show, but he’ll address the WWE Universe by video. Triple H will kick off the program and it sounds like Randy Orton — who was scheduled to face McIntyre in a non-title match — will stay in the main event, but WWE is scrambling to find a new opponent for Orton to face.
It is not clear how McIntyre contracted the virus or when he tested positive, but it does not sound like WWE will be removing the title or forcing him to vacate the belt as he should be out only two weeks and would be back in time for the Royal Rumble on January 31. That said, with his being on the show and Triple H addressing the fans, it’s hard to know for sure what WWE plans to do.
We’ll have more news as it becomes available.
Obviously, this is not ideal timing as the show had strong numbers for last week’s Raw Legends Night and they are headed into one of their bigger pay-per-views of the season.
