Drew McIntyre Calls Out Tyson Fury

New WWE Champion Drew McIntyre isn’t taking long to find challengers for his WWE Championship. He appeared on talkSPORT in the UK Monday morning and joked challenging former English soccer star Chris Sutton. He also added another name to his list, one that WWE fans are familiar with.

Drew’s suggested that he’d like to go a few rounds inside a WWE ring with boxing champion Tyson Fury. Fans will recall Fury showed up to battle now Universal Champion Braun Strowman at a WWE Saudi show, winning by count-out.

McIntyre said, “When it gets backs to normal, the next thing I want to do is fight Chris Sutton,” He told Sports Breakfast co-host Ally McCoist, “You set it up.” He added, “You’d be in my corner.”

Drew then said:

“I know Tyson Fury is on the show today, as well. I need to bring up Fury because he was talking trash about me, so I know he’s coming on the show.”

Tell him ‘I saw what you said about me.’ He didn’t care who won the match [between Lesnar and I], he thought I was going to win and thinks he can smash me. Just let him know ‘Fury I’ve won the championship, now I’m paying attention to you’. After I beat Sutton, I’m coming for Fury.”

Fury has happy to oblige. The boxing star, who said he’d love to come back to WWE, took to Instagram and wrote:

“@dmcintyrewwe has call me out after his @wwe Wrestlemania 36 victory, first I say congratulations and what a fantastic job. Secondly I accept his challenge, anytime any place, anywhere. [thumbs up emoji] [hands together emoji]”

It seems unlikely this type of feud will happen anytime soon considering the current global crisis and that WWE needs to first figure out how they’re going to manage future episodes of Raw and SmackDown. Once things get sorted, it’s only logical to assume Fury and WWE will look to work together again.

Hopefully McIntyre is still the champion at that time.
