It’s becoming an old habit for The Revival to tease their departure from WWE. And, right on cue, after losing the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships, they’ve done so again.
One-half of the former champs, The Revival’s Scott Dawson tweeted he’d be seeing Arn Anderson soon, leading to rumors of a move to AEW.
The last news reported in respect to the Revival’s status in WWE was that they’d turned down contract extensions with WWE. The company had given them a run as champs and a push alongside Shane McMahon but that appears to be over and they are no longer the titleholders. So, it shouldn’t come as a shock to see them on social media stirring the pot.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Dawson wrote, “Arn taught us well. See ya soon, Double A.”
Perhaps this is nothing. At the same time, it’s easy to see why fans are trying to connect the dots.
Anderson was released by WWE earlier this year and quickly signed to appear at a Starrcast conference run by Conrad Thompson. While Starrcast and AEW are not partners, they are closely aligned and the buzz is that Anderson will wind up in AEW as a producer. If so, where is Dawson expecting to see him?
Not So Fast Fans…
Let the rumors begin, but, don’t get carried away. The timing of Chris Jericho’s announcement that he’ll have two mystery partners for a match against The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega at the debut of AEW on TNT is not connected to the Revival.
Dawson and Wilder are not done (if, in fact, they leave) with WWE until April of 2020. This is months past when AEW will debut on television.
