For the most part, NXT talents escaped the drastic talent cuts that WWE underwent on Wednesday. A couple talents in Deonna Purrazzo and Aleksandar Jaksic were let go, but widespread releases have yet to happen.
The reason for this could be the lower salaries some of these stars are making but Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has revealed that there’s some news in terms of what NXT talents can expect, if and when they are let go.
Released performers will receive 30 days of pay and then are free to go where they please. Whether or not anyone will pick them up is another story since few wrestling promotions are likely hiring. But, should someone get the chance to test their worth elsewhere, WWE is trying to make the transition as feasible as possible.
There are rumors a number of other releases are coming and it’s possible a series of NXT talents will be let go after NXT’s show tonight. And, while the broadcast might have nothing to do with who is released, there are other releases expected company wide.
Some speculation is that when all is said and done, between talent, producers, office staff, writers and others, WWE could lay off more than 100 people.
