Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake Announced For 2019 WWE Hall of Fame

The final inductee into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class is none other than legendary cutter and stutter, Brutus the Barber Beefcake. While rumored to be going in months ago, we recently spoke with Greg the Hammer Valentine (former tag team partner of Beefcake’s) on our Smart Marks of Wrestling Podcast and he informed us Beefcake going in was just a rumor. Clearly, Valentine was misinformed.

Beefcake was well known during the 80’s and early 90’s as a wrestler who would come to the ring with huge sheers and after victories, cut the hair of his opponent. While being classified as a “barber”, the haircuts he gave fellow wrestlers were not exactly of the highest quality.

He had memorable feuds with superstars like Honky Tonk Man, Outlaw Ron Bass, and others, at one time scheduled to win the Intercontinental Title off of Honky at SummerSlam 1988 before an injury opened the door for the Ultimate Warrior.

Beefcake responded to the announcement by WWE that he was honored beyond words.

It is expected Beefcake could be inducted in by fellow Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. Hogan and Beefcake have been friends for decades and while their pasts roads haven’t always been bump free, the latest is they are back on good terms.

With this news, WWE is done naming entrants into this year’s Hall of Fame Class. That means, there is probably no celebrity recipient like there has been in year’s past.
