If you ask Braun Strowman, he already knows what he’ll be doing for WrestleMania 36 next year.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Strowman recently spoke with Justin Barrasso and definitely declared that he will main event WrestleMania and no later than the next installment of WWE’s biggest show of the year.
After announcing that he’d signed a new four-year deal with WWE, he’s added to his future plans. “I will main event WrestleMania,” Strowman said. “Hopefully more than once on my way to a Hall of Fame career. I’ll start with a main event against Drew McIntyre, and I’ll tell you who will win: me.”
While Strowman has said that he’s not worried about whether or not he holds a title at this juncture in his career, one would have to assume if he’s main eventing WrestleMania for next season, the thought of being the champion has crossed his mind.
“I don’t need something to boost my character. I get some of the biggest reactions out of anyone just walking out because of my sheer size and ability. It would be cool right now, but I’m here for the long haul and I have many, many more years of WWE in me. There’s plenty of time.”
And, WWE seems to be slow-playing his rise to the top. This past year at WrestleMania, he was on the pre-show working in a Battle Royal with some of the cast of Saturday Night Live.
Saying it wasn’t exactly what he had in mind for himself, it wound up being a great experience. “That was a good thing because it got my face out in front of more mainstream media and audiences that don’t necessarily watch wrestling,” he said. “We were just talking about this at work, and I want to say it had 257 million views in outlets outside of wrestling in a matter of a week. It wasn’t ideally what I wanted to do at WrestleMania, but it was a good thing to do at WrestleMania.”

Can He Follow in the Footsteps of the Best Big Men?
Strowman says his plan is to be the first Braun Strowman but he’s not afraid to admit he’s studied some of the best big guys in professional wrestling. From Andre the Giant to the Big Show, he says, “I’m picking and choosing little things and mannerisms, and then putting my own twist on it. I’m not trying to be like anybody else, I’m trying to be the first Braun Strowman.”
Whatever he’s doing is working because he is one of the most popular stars in WWE and if the rumors are true that Paul Heyman has a fondness for the Monster Among Men, Braun might be right. He might be Raw’s biggest star in the next few months and on his way to main eventing the biggest show of the year.
