Big E To Return To In-Ring Action on SmackDown Tonight
As is being reported by WWE.com, Big E is set to return to the ring on this week’s WWE SmackDown from the Golden1 Center in Sacramento, California. He’ll be one member of a six-man tag match.
WWE has announced that The New Day’s Big E, Xavier Woods and WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will team up for a six-man main event against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Dolph Ziggler.
Out with a knee injury, Big E underwent knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus back in mid-April. He’s been on the shelf since but never too far from the eyes and ears of WWE fans.
Active on social media, he’s tried to start a “relationship” with Becky Lynch’s mom, he’s been active on media shows and podcasts and he’s constantly updating his fans with thoughts and ideas that a man sitting on his couch might have to watch the WWE product from home.
He returned to WWE TV on the May 21 SmackDown episode only to take part in an injury angle that would explain his absence from tv. He did travel with the company to Saudi Arabia but was not on the pay-per-view itself.
What Will He Be Doing?
Chances are, this will be Big E just teaming up again with his old running mates but there are whispers of a future heel turn. It will be interesting to see if any of those seeds are planted tonight.
It is expected New Day will get the win but the WWE will be working the storyline towards the Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston in a Steel Cage match.
