AJ Styles Comments On WrestleMania Possibly Being Two Nights Every Year
We wrote earlier today that Triple H discussed the possibility that the company might take note with some changes to this year’s WrestleMania and implement them for other WrestleMania’s moving forward. If so, it would be interesting to see how both wrestlers and fans would respond.
One WWE Supestar who has already weighed in on the idea is AJ Styles. He comments during an interview with Newsweek.com, on the length of Wrestlemania and if the event should continue being two nights in the future:
“I think we’ve got to do something, as a company. There are a lot of matches in one night, too many if you ask me,” he said. He added, “Either we cut down on the matches or have two nights. Either way is fine with me.”
Ultimately, It’s Up to The WWE Fans
But, he noted, ultimately, it’s not up to him. It might not even be up to WWE. “At the end of the day, it’s up to the fans and whether they are willing to show up, he said. If fans won’t attend two nights of WrestleMania, it’s not worth trying. But, it could create options for the WWE Universe.
He noted, “And at the same time, maybe give someone a chance who can’t afford two days they can see one day or pick the night and the matches they want to see.” This is, of course, assuming WWE does both nights in the same city. “I don’t think it’s a bad thing. Next year, we’ll see what happens.”
The idea is likely being tossed around in WWE right now and the positive financial benefit makes sense. If WWE can sell out two nights of WrestleMania instead of one, they stand to make twice the profit on the gate when things finally get back to normal and fans are allowed back into the arenas.
