When Double or Nothing takes place Saturday May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, AEW will finally get a chance to show the world what they’re all about.
AEW is arguably the second biggest promotion on the planet and they haven’t even had a match under their banner yet (outside of Pac vs. Hangman Page which didn’t technically occur with AEW). This is why it’s so important for the company to blow every other match put on in the wrestling world in 2019 out of the water from the get-go.
One quick note before these predictions begin is that, due to Hangman Page’s match not officially being announced as of yet, he won’t be included on this list as his opponent isn’t known.
Without further delay, here are the predictions for Double or Nothing.
Kip Sabian Vs. Sammy Guevara
One of the first names announced to AEW’s roster was Sammy Guevara. The 25-year-old standout was on WWE’s radar and even had a tryout with their company in 2017. Despite this, he made it clear that his intent wasn’t to go to WWE and that he wasn’t interested in signing with them even if they had offered him a contract at the time.
He’ll get a chance to showcase his abilities in AEW alongside Kip Sabian on the Double or Nothing pre-show, titled “The Buy In.” Both Sabian and Guevara have the makings of successful heels, but it would make a lot more sense for Sabian to play the heel role in this match with Guevara transitioning into a face for the time being.
This match should catch a lot of fans by surprise with how fast-paced it will be but Sabian will come out as the victor.
Winner: Kip Sabian
