The match that everybody’s been waiting for seems set to take place at AEW’s Double or Nothing event. Dustin Rhodes, frequently known as Goldust, teased on Saturday that he would be facing Cody at Double or Nothing on May 25 and AEW would confirm the news just a few minutes later.
This match has been highly anticipated for years dating back to the Rhodes brothers’ time in WWE. While the two never got their WrestleMania moment together, they’ll have a chance to give the wrestling world the match under the all-new AEW banner.
While Double or Nothing already had a lot of hype surrounding it for some of the quality matches set to take place as well as it being the first official major show officially put on by the company, this Rhodes vs. Rhodes match just adds to that excitement that surrounds what promises to be an exciting night of wrestling.
The match is being promoted as “One Last Ride” by Rhodes and AEW, including new merch featuring Dustin Rhodes with red and black face paint.
Double or Nothing also features Hangman Page vs. Pac, SoCal Uncensored vs. Cima and two TBA wrestlers, Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho, Dr. Britt Baker vs. Nyla Rose vs. Kylie Rae, Sonny Kiss vs. Kip Sabian vs. Brandon Cutler vs. Ace Romero vs. Glacier vs. Brian Pillman Jr. vs Sunny Daze vs. MJF vs. Joey Janela vs. another unnamed competitor and the Young Bucks vs. the Lucha Bros for the AAA World Tag Team Championships.
