AEW Announces Main Event For Fyter Fest
At the post-Double or Nothing virtual media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan announced AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will defend his title against Brian Cage at this year’s Fyter Fest pay-per-view.
Cage made his long-awaited debut at AEWs Double or Nothing show and won the Casino Ladder Match to earn a future shot at the AEW Championship. He’s not wasting any time. With Taz in his corner, Cage will try to win the title just a couple of months after his debut.
Details of the pay-per-view will be announced this week on Dynamite. Khan said the original plan was that Fyter Fest ‘20 was going to be in London. Obviously, with the pandemic, AEW can’t debut the show there. For now, he can’t say which venue they’ve chosen or will choose. “It was going to be awesome, I was really looking forward to doing it,” Khan said.
Moxley retained his title at the PPV against Brodie Lee by choking him out after delivering two Dirty Deeds DDT’s and sending them both through part of the stage.
