In today’s WWE rumor report, there are updates on Rey Mysterio’s injury, missing names from the WrestleMania 35 card, Lars Sullivan, Dean Ambrose and more.
Lars Sullivan to Interrupt Elias at WrestleMania 35?
There is speculation that Lars Sullivan might show up at WrestleMania this year and if he does, could be working a program with Elias. On Tuesday, Sullivan tweeted a response to none other than Elias who wrote, ” I am so multi-talented, charismatic, unique – unlike any superstar past or present and beyond that @WWE often doesn’t know what to do with me… but at Wrestlemania – they get it right – an uninterrupted full performance is almost all I’ve ever wanted..
Sullivan tweeted a response and then deleted it. That response read, “They don’t know what to do with you huh? I’ll tell you what, the ol’ Sullster knows exactly what to do with ya. All I’m saying is that you better play a good song at WrestleMania.”
If this happens, WWE is going to set up Elias to be a babyface with the musical performance he does and Sullivan to be a huge heel by the time that performance segment is over.
Mysterio Legitimately Hurt
Rey Mysterio suffered an ankle injury in his match against Baron Corbin this past Monday on Raw. There was some speculation it was a storyline, but he was pulled from his match on Tuesday’s SmackDown vs. Andrade and new reports by Wrestling Observer are that he is injured and could miss Sunday’s match vs. Samoa Joe.
There is no news from WWE on this, other than to say that Rey will be re-evaluated. Speculation is that someone like Kevin Owens might step in to face Joe is Rey can’t go.
Dean Ambrose Might Show
It’s possible even Dean Ambrose is being considered as a replacement for Mysterio. At least, there is some buzz that Ambrose might show up and play a role in WrestleMania despite not being booked.
He came out after Raw on Monday in a dark segment that didn’t air and pointed to the WrestleMania sign after taking care of Baron Corbin. Some are guessing this was a hint that he’ll be there and perhaps taking part.
