Did CM Punk Just Return to Wrestling? (Video)

Silas Young, a former two-time ROH World Television Champion, and Wisconsin-based ‘MKE Wrestling’ promoter ran a show on April 19th.  After posting a video from one of his shows, he’s implying that CM Punk returned to wrestling under a mask. At this point, other than people saying it happened, is that the wrestler in question delivered Punk’s old finishing maneuver, the GTS.

Young wrote, “Last night we held @MKE_Wrestling at the Knights of Columbus building in West Allis the place was packed with 350 people. This place has had 25+ years of wrestling and is the place a lot of guys started. Guys like @ColtCabana as well as a Punk who showed up in a mask last night.”

I found it interesting that he said, “a Punk” not “CM Punk” or simply “Punk”, but he did capitalize the word Punk and earlier in the day, Punk was also seen wearing the same hoodie, which you can see in the photo below:

The last time CM Punk was in a wrestling ring was during the Royal Rumble match in 2014, so if this is true, it’s kind of a big deal.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp expanded on the speculation and said:

A trusted source contacted us and said that this actually isn’t the first time it’s happened. Apparently Punk appeared under a hood at some point before his falling out with Colt Cabana, which would have been during the Wrestling Road Diaries 3 filming. We’re told that it was dropped from the final cut after Punk and Cabana’s issues developed.

It seems shocking after all the times Punk has talked about WWE and professional wrestling that he would show up and take part in a match in this way but Punk might have a flare for stirring things up and getting people talking.

Punk Appearance Confirmed?

Wrestling Inc. is now reporting that it was, in fact, CM Punk under the mask and said the plan was to actually have Punk take the mask off. They are also noting Punk waited in his car outside the venue before making his appearance and left immediately afterward.
