We know, NHL hockey starts tomorrow, and for a lot of Canadians, that’s the big news. But for wrestling fans, Christmas came a little early. It was announced on Tuesday that AEW and TSN have worked out a deal to air AEW: Dynamite on television. Again, Yay!
It has been years since TSN has carried professional wrestling. But, if they’re going to get back into the industry and broadcast anything, AEW was probably a great choice. Each and every Wednesday AEW:Dynamite will air on TSN2, live for wrestling fans who want to watch, what before today, was only going to be available to fans south of the border.
Two of AEW’s big stars delivered the news on Twitter. First, Canadian wrestler, star of AEW and an Executive Vice President, Kenny Omega told fans AEW was coming to TSN, and “just in the nick of time.”
Chris Jericho later took to Twitter upset that AEW would let someone like Omega deliver the news when it should have been the biggest star in Canadian wrestling history and current AEW World Champion who shared the good news. After all, according to Jericho, he’s the reason AEW was able to land the deal.
BarDown.com, a sister site for TSN wrote, “…, there’s no better time to be a wrestling fan than right now and on Wednesday night, an exciting new chapter officially begins when AEW Dynamite debuts at 8pm ET on TSN2 in Canada.” Bell Media issued a press release saying,
” TSN and TSN Direct subscribers can watch the all-new AEW DYNAMITE every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on TSN’s digital streaming platforms, including TSN.ca and the TSN app, and on the network’s five national television feeds (subject to final scheduling confirmation).
AEW: Dynamite will feature stars like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and more.
